10: Darth Plagueis

Have you ever heard the tragedy of Darth Plagueis the Wise? We all sure have, and if you haven't, then read a book. He makes the list at 10 because he was so powerful, he could manipulate the midichlorians to create life. He even tried to unlock the secret of immortality. Eventually, Plagueis ended up discovering a way to achieve his desired quest for immortality by transferring his consciousness to another body, by essentially using bodies as hosts to his own life. Plagueis also attempted to create a dyad in the force with Sidious, a unique bond as strong life itself. However, Plagueis was unable to form the dyad. He was known as a very powerful Sith Lord but was ultimately betrayed by his apprentice Darth Sidious.

9: Ulic Qel Droma

Ulic Qel Droma was once a Jedi-turned-Sith. During the Mandalorian Wars, he hijacked Republic forces and destroyed them. He was also planning on attacking the Jedi capital on Coruscant, where his followers betrayed him, otherwise it would be worth noting he would've more than likely been successful. He was especially violent, even going as far as killing his brother. He though later returned to the light.

8: Vitiate

Vitiate comes in this list at 8. He was known as a dark entity with enormous power. He was especially ruthless and founded a new Sith Empire by gathering the remaining few Sith and taking their power for himself. He, too, was obsessed with the idea of being immortal. He used a ritual which let more life from others transfer over to him. It is thought that he orchestrated the start of the Mandalorian Wars which was a very violent period in time.

7: Freedon Nadd

Freedon Nadd was known as a Jedi prodigy who understood use of the Force almost instantly. Unfortunately, he turned into a Sith, a very powerful Sith at that. He made his way to the heart of the Sith Empire where he gained an immense knowledge of dark sided power. He used that power to destroy his own apprentice and later rule the planet Onderon.

6: Darth Traya

Darth Traya otherwise known as Kreia was a very unique Sith. She was stripped of her Darks Side power by her two apprentices, but twisted the Light Side power to her own gain and destroy the few remaining Jedi. She tricked Meetra Surik and manipulated her all along to become a Sith Lord again. Unfortunately for her, it backfired and she was defeated by Meetra.

5: Darth Sidious

Sheev Palpatine AKA Darth Sidious was one of the smartest Sith, though he is powerful, he isn't as powerful as the ones on this list. He did have some help with the Separatists, Count Dooku, Maul, Anakin, and Jar Jar (giving him emergency powers) but he basically singlehandedly without detection from anyone, bring down the Republic and rule the galaxy within an empire. He understood being a Sith isn't all just about going at things without thinking and that's how it helped him do so.

4: Exar Kun

He is known for the invention of the double-bladed saber. As a young Jedi padawan, Exar Kun was always very strong-headed and quick to be angered. He once came across the Forbidden Knowledge of the History of the Sith Order. Thinking that he had great power already and could control darkness from consuming him, he became curious about it and traveled all over to learn more. Traveling to Onderon, the spirit of Freedon Nadd helped Kun on his path to darkness without him knowing it. He then was convinced the Jedi were evil, which upon his return to Coruscant murdered the Chancellor and other Jedi. He later was captured by the Jedi and cutoff from the Force

3: Darth Revan

Darth Revan was a Jedi who fell after the Mandalorian Wars in search of the Unkown Regions. Him and Darth Malak soon gained many, many followers because of his great leadership in the Wars and created one of the biggest Sith Armies known. He returned to the light after his memories erased and helped defeat Darth Malak with his crew. Though died as a Jedi, many Sith still regard him as one of the most powerful to exist.

2: Darth Bane

He was known for creating the infamous Rule of 2. He was the only survivor of the Jedi attack on the Sith. He made the new tradition and it kept the Sith religion around. He found the Old Sith were flawed because they couldn't ever work together and that is why the Rule of 2 was established. To create a sort of trust until the master would be slain by his/her apprentice.

1: Darth Nihilus

There are almost no other words to describe this Sith other than absolutely horrific. He is what some call a "wound in the force" which means his very presence can destroy and cripple it. Darth Nihilus craved the force as energy. When he was very injured, the way he sought to get better was by consuming the Force. The only way he could live is by encasing himself in his own armor. He destroyed planets and sucked all of the Force from it to soothe the craving. Everyone and everything isn't just left dead, they are left worse than dead. Like an absence in the Force. Even his voice is demonic!
